Minnesota

Minnesota. The Somali community. An impossible choice.
Minnesota is home to one of the largest Somali communities in the world outside of Somalia. Tens of thousands of families who came with almost nothing, worked incredibly hard, and built lives in a new country.
But homeownership — the single most reliable path to building generational wealth in America — was out of reach for many. Not because they couldn't afford it. Because they wouldn't compromise their faith to get there.
The existing Islamic financing options were real, but they felt like they were built for a different era. Slow. Opaque. Difficult to access. And priced with no competition.
Baytly was built to fix that. Not as a side project. As a mission.
The four things that had to change.
The Islamic financing options that did exist weren't discoverable. No live calculators. No transparent pricing. No digital applications. You had to know someone who knew someone. That's not a product — that's a secret club. We wanted to build something anyone could find, understand, and use on their phone at midnight.
We heard the same story too many times. Families who handed over their savings to developers promising halal housing projects that never materialized. The scars are real. The skepticism is earned. We knew that any new entrant claiming "Islamic finance" would face — and deserve — intense scrutiny. We designed Baytly around radical transparency specifically because of this history.
In competitive housing markets, if your financing takes 45–60 days to close, you lose every offer. Muslim families were consistently outbid — not because they were less qualified, but because their financing moved slower. Technology should have solved this years ago. We built Baytly to close in 21 days.
When there's only one Islamic home financing option in the country, there's no pressure to improve, no competition on rates, no incentive to build better technology. The community deserves a real market — multiple providers competing for their business, driving down rates and driving up quality. Baytly entering the market is a first step toward that.
Five principles we will not compromise on.
The plan. Shared publicly.
We believe you should know exactly what we're building and when. No vague promises. A real roadmap, updated as we hit milestones.
